In March Money Philosophy decided to get back into the stock picking game after having been out of it for a few years. He was immediately drawn to stocks such as GM & C which had taken a huge hit since the stock market fell through the floor in September of 2008. These stocks looked like they were rebounding and he was excited about the chance that they could eventually reach their old peaks.
The GM and C picks were extremely successful and that got him to look for other stocks like them. He ended up coming across a couple of microcap stocks, CTIC and LJPC, that looked like they may break through in a similar way.
That ended up being the case as both CTIC and LJPC ended up being huge gainers.
He thought that he may really be onto something with the way he was choosing these stocks so he decided to try to make a screener which would find more stock picks like them right before they were about to “pop” with big gains.
The reason I’m writing this blog post today is because his first stock pick with this new screen reached a high 40% above it’s open today and that certainly impressed the heck out of me. My imagination is off and running with the big gains I could make by following his penny stock picks.
I definitely don’t expect every pick he or anyone else makes to have this kind of gain. That’s impossible. It’s also key to know that a gain isn’t “official” until you sell the stock. Figuring out when to sell is just as important as deciding when to buy. The cool thing is that he also makes a post on his blog (and on his Twitter account) when he sells his holdings.
He does not share the precise way he screens for these stock picks as I guess he’s too selfish to share all of his secrets but he shares much more than most do.
Of course he doesn’t tell people to buy his picks. There is actually nothing to gain from that. It’s always recommended that you do your own investigating before buying stock.
While I understand that it’s tempting download The Day Trading Robot or Another Stock Picking Robot, I definitely think you would have superior results just by following what Money Philosophy’s doing. And of course the great thing is that it’s totally free.
